Sophronia Jacob Audas Lane

Sophronia was born 22 Dec 1835 in Sparta, Hancock County, Georgia
to Tuttle Hudson Audas and Henrietta Washington Turner

She married Rev. James Sterling Lane 24 Apr 1860, in Sparta, Hancock County, Georgia
She was James' 3rd wife.  His second wife was her older sister Florida Hudson Audas.
James was a Methodist minister, and died in Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas in 1882.
Sophronia and two of her children lived in Waco during the late 1880's and 1890's.

Sophronia died 21 Feb 1917 in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.  Her step-son Orlando Claiborne Lane
lived in Brownwood, which is probably why she was buried here.
Sophronia's stone is the flat one in the back right corner of the plot.
She is buried in a plot with George F. Sensabaugh (1882-1901), Daisy Leona Holt (1914-1919),
Jenny Leigh Blizard (1980-1987), Hazel F. Mayfield (1925-1987),
and Floyd E. (1905-1989) and Pauline (1925-2002) Merlot.
